Blobby Connect Privacy Policy
Blobby Connect is a game developed by Sam Grover. It has no ads, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and no account to create. Nothing it collects is used to track you across other apps or websites, and nothing is sold.
What stays on your device
Your scores, stats, run history, settings and today’s quest progress are stored on your device.
Your iCloud identifier
Anything the game sends to its iCloud (CloudKit) database is stamped by Apple with an identifier for your iCloud account. The identifier is specific to this game. It is not your Apple ID, name or email address, and the game cannot use it to find out who you are. Because the same identifier is on everything you send, Apple counts this data as linked to you, and the game’s App Store privacy label says so.
Information collection and use
- Gameplay sharing (on by default): While Share gameplay data is on in Settings, each run you finish is uploaded to the game’s iCloud database. Uploads help balance the game and make medals and seasons possible. A run record includes a random install identifier the app creates, your app and iOS versions, your device model, the game mode and settings, the start and end times, the score, and a move-by-move record of the run. It does not include your location. You can turn this off at any time in Settings.
- Leaderboards (off by default): If you turn leaderboards on, the game publishes your display name, avatar and best scores to leaderboards that other players can see. The game picks a display name for you, and you can change it. Turning leaderboards off deletes your leaderboard entries.
- Groups: If you make or join a group, the group’s name, its join code, and each member’s display name and avatar are stored in the game’s iCloud database so the group’s members can see them. Members of a group see each other’s scores on the group’s boards. With My groups only, you are shown on your groups’ boards and left off the public ones. Leaving a group removes you from it.
- Medals: A small server job hosted on Cloudflare reads the shared game results to award medals and season points. A medal record holds your iCloud identifier and the result, not your name.
- Your own iCloud: Your quest streak and your My groups only choice are kept in your own iCloud account, so they follow you to your other devices. Only you can see them.
- Siri and Shortcuts: When you ask Siri or run a shortcut, the game answers from what is already on your device and the boards it already reads. It sends nothing new. Siri handles your request as described in Apple’s privacy policy.
- Notifications: The optional daily reminder and streak reminder are scheduled on your device. No data is sent to schedule them.
Keeping and deleting data
Leaderboard entries are deleted when you turn leaderboards off, and your group membership ends when you leave a group. Uploaded runs and medal records are kept so the game can be balanced and scores can be checked. To have the runs and medals tied to your iCloud identifier deleted, contact us on the Support page.
